In this episode, Krysta and Traci continue their discussion on Ephesians. They begin with a recap of what was revealed to them about unity in Messiah and the secret plan. In Chapter 4, the theme of unity continues as they explore the topic of “walking in unity” with the Jewish people in what God has promised.

Key Points:

The Hebrew letter of the day is the “vav,” (ו), with a numeric value of six (the number of man). Ancient pictograph is a tent peg; script is a vertical line joined to a yod. Meaning = Hook, as a connecting hook used in the assembly of the mishkan/tabernacle.

– In Exodus 27:9-10, the word describes the hooks that fastened the curtain surrounding the tabernacle to the posts.

– First used in the first sentence in Genesis in the sixth word, implying a divine “hook” between heaven and earth, the spiritual and the earthly. (See https://hebrew4christians.com/Grammar/Unit_One/Aleph-Bet/Vav/vav.html).

  • Sha’ul (Paul), a knowledgeable Jewish scholar, was called to preach the Good News to the Gentiles.
  • The mystery that Paul had revealed was that Gentile believers in the Messiah may now be a part of God’s chosen people.
  • There is a difference between knowing about God’s love and understanding His love for us in our hearts and our minds.
  • The Lord wants us to succeed in the plans he has made for us, and He does not want us to be bound up in shame or guilt.
  • Humility is a prerequisite to drawing near to the Father.
  • Everyone has unique gifts, and all have a calling to some type of ministry.

Scriptures mentioned:

  • Ephesians 4 (Please read the whole chapter)
  • Numbers 12:3 Now this man Moshe was very humble, more so than anyone on earth.
  • Philippians 2:12 So, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed when I was with you, it is even more important that you obey now when I am away from you: keep working out your deliverance with fear and trembling,
  • Mark 3:25 …and if a household is divided against itself, that household can’t survive.
  • James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. (NKJV)
  • Colossians 3:14-15 Above all these, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together perfectly; and let the shalom which comes from the Messiah be your heart’s decision-maker, for this is why you were called to be part of a single Body. (CJB)
